so... Avi Lewis is in town today and I didn't know, so I'm not going to see the Take tonight. But anyway, The Take is on at the Garneau starting on the 12th, and the best thing we could ever do is go to it during the first week (because distribution companies will take it seriously that people want to see it)... and I really really want to go anyway, so anyone want to join me this weekend? I think it's going to be movie-a-riffic! And I'm missing Avi Lewis... damn! he's so amazing... (or am I letting too much of my school girl crush through now? hmm...) :) he's just so fucking awesome.

so, besides the crushspeak, let me know if you're interested in joining me sometime this weekend in seeing The Take... Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein co-filmed it, and they're ... yeah, they're awesome! And I think it'll be an awesome movie about taking back control of things from those higher up. Direct Democracy in Action! I really really want to see this movie.

I don't know what our obsession with keeping drunks upright is, but that's literally the third time that link has been posted. Suddenly, I get the impression that it's not too late to post the hopkin green frog.

If you watched the debate last night (I don't have homework, I don't have anything better to do), you may have caught my favourite Klein-ism: his plan for health care is to make it the best in the country. At being told he doesn't have a plan, he retorted that he does, and that making it the best in the country is a plan. And he'll still win. Unless enough conservatives switch over to the Alberta Whine..., er, Alberta Alliance. I love those guys...

I think that's what we need in this province. Instead of one united 9 member opposition, we need a bunch of 2-member caucuses to peck away until Klein turns green and rampages in the Leg, yelling about the Liberals' "federal cousins" and the "power of the two-member NDP caucus".

make a drunk walk! I only got 14 metres... my Dad got 55... see how well you can do! ;) it's in German by the way, so I don't particularly know what it says, but the concept is easy enough... the mouse tells him where to go, so yeah, have fun.

To add more bad news coming from the Mec E department, My most hated Mec E professor is running for MLA in the coming election, In my riding! He is running for the NDP and his name is Fleck. Well this deserves another use of my angry icons. So to the Mece department once again...

you're right, Beck, despite your rampant dislike of Johnny Depp, I actually have to agree with you. I can't believe they're going to try and top the absolutely phenomenal performance of Gene Wilder. Admittedly, I will have to go see it because I just plain love Tim Burton, but I still don't know how it's going to be. Johnny Depp is not - via any of the roles I've seen him in - the kind of person I would ever have suggested was "right" for Willy Wonka... he's too creepy-crazy and just not eccentric in the right ways.

so... this weekend... I'm thinking The Motorcycle Diaries will be on my list of things to go see... if any of you want to join me... and Vera Drake, because I think it would be worth seeing, now that I know what it's about! other than that... no idea. Anyone got plans for the weekend? (no pressure, just curious) I think I'm going to spend a lot of time in pajamas... except that most of my family will also be home for those four days... so much for alone time.

For your info Gojira will be showing at the Metro. Just so you don't wander around edmonton trying to find the theater.
