Eric, that was not directed at you. you don't use those words in the pejorative. I think you've actually got a decent handle on things. it's the other negatively-connoted uses of those words that really piss me off. you're using them in a far more inclusive, general and non-insultive way, which some people are not. like I said, perhaps I've made my explanation a little too high-brow, or something, but you definitely are not the reason why I've posted these comments. It's the other ones like "what a fucking douchebag" not "okay niggas, let's go do something" that raise my ire.

Say you're dancing, minding your own business when this girl comes up to you and totally picks you up. Like, I mean- she makes all the moves that the guy should normally make. She hits on you, she asks to dance with you, she asks you your name, she compliments you, she fishes for compliments herself... the whole deal. You don't instigate shit... it's ALL her. All you're doing at this point is going along with it. Now say she's dancing with you totally close and won't stop complimenting you on your clothes but then she says (and this is the important part):

"You know, if you were a girl, I'd totally be all over you!"

At which point, you're not entirely sure what she means, and you try to formulate something to say, but before you can accomplish as much, she asks you:

Now, say you continue dancing for a few songs and talking and making small chat and even though it seems pretty evident that she's 100% a lesbian (even though she doesn't seem like it), she asks you for your e-mail address.
